I read and commented on Haoran's first blog post. He introduces himself and then proceeds to describe his previous writing experience (WR2) and the skills that he learned. He is ready to take on the work and acknowledges the 12 hours per week needed to succeed in the class.
I commented on Haoran's post empathizing with his struggle with english. I studied japanese and struggled with sentence structure and syntax because of the drastic differences in the language compared to english.
I read Jia's blog post about habits of mind. I think that we had a lot of similarities in our habits of mind blog post especially for the flexibility habit. Jia made great points and explained herself well.
I remember meeting Jia on zoom during our podcast meeting. I commented on Jia's post relating to her missing an assignment, as I did the same. I liked the way that she formated her blog post.
I read Shane's blog post summarizing a podcast that he listened to. Shane brings up interesting and controversial topics covered in the podcast and how Jamie believes that transgender people are not the gender that they claim they are.
I also met Shane when we were discussing our plans for the podcast coming up. I liked Shanes summary, but I noticed that he did not discuss his thoughts on the issue. I asked for his thoughts.
I read Yun's blog post about The Beauty and the Beast, Killing us softly 4, and her love for nature. I thought that Yun made some good analogies and connections with Killing us softly 4. I like the enthusiasm that she writes with.
I commented on Yun's blog post appreciating her writing style and her use of pictures. I also remember meeting Yun in her 6 words about me presentation. Yun did a good job writing about the topics.
Ashley's blog post was about her reflection on the habits of mind presented in week 3. Ashley does a good job organizing her thoughts and relating to each of the 7 words. She also does a good job using examples as she talks about her group mates and the group chat that they created for the podcast.
I commented on Ashley's blog relating to her stance on being open. Like most children, I watched Disney films as a child for the story and did not delve much deeper into the social constructs present in the films. We now have to be open to learning about something and how it may not be how we originally saw it as a child.
In Ray Khan's blog post about the habits of mind assignment from week 3, he thinks deeply about each word and uses great examples to support his points. I really liked the example he used with his Grandmother.
I met Ray Khan before at Anteatery and was happy to read about his reflection. I commented about his use of examples and how our reasoning for openness was pretty similar. I thought that his work was quite well written.
